Hua Yang was born in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province in China. He started photographing more than 20 years ago and is now a professional photographer. His works had won him many rewords in national photographing exhibitions and competitions, and had been selected by many main stream media in China.
In 1995, he successfully planned and hosted the first photo exhibition in Sichuan Province with his own work about China Youth Development Foundation, also widely known as the "Hope Project", the largest official non-profit organization dedicated in helping students who are in poverty within China. The exhibition has gained huge success by gathering society 's attention to this matter. The same year he was awarded with the "Literature and Art Prize of Sichuan".
In 2002, he received the nominal award of the best photographer from "Chinese Photography".
As the result of passion towards the marvelous nature in the Western China, he founded the first professional photographing-theme travel agent in China in the year of 2000 and he is also the founder of the website named Western China Photography, which has been put on-line since year of 2004.
He now spends most of his time in traveling in the great mountains hidden in the Western China, which provides him with massive first hand information about the scene and the local culture in both photos and literature.
The main published works of him include "The Photographing-Travel Guide for Tibet" and "The Photographing-Travel Guide for the Greater Shangri-La". He is also the co-author of many Photo Brochures, such as "The Western China" and "Kangding".
